Sepilok Orangutan Reservat and Kinabatangan River  with rivers, and the area around Sukau.
Info :
Kinabatangan is Borneo's longest river at 560 km.

Proboscis monkey is an endangered monkey species that live only in Borneo. Few places in the Malaysian part - Sabah og Sarawak, but especially in the Indonesian part - Kalimantan. Males can weight up to 40 pounds.

We left Selingan Island after we had eaten breakfast, and sat the course towards Sankakan again.  The trip took just over an hour, and after a short stay at the Jetty, we continued with the car towards the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary. Then we took back to the Jetty, where we once again took a boat. This time we headed for the Kinabatangan River, which is Borneo's longest river. We had to sail around 40km, until we came to the Abai River Lodge, where we stopped to have lunch. Then we continued the trip up the river for about 40km more, until we reached Sukau River Lodge, where we were sleeping for the next 2 nights. We had some heavy rain showers on the way down the river, but they were thankfully rather short-lived. Abai River Lodge was slightly larger than Sukau, but they are built the same way with walkways between the houses, so you can move around without getting your feet wet, even if everything is wet and muddy on the ground. We were lucky to see both the Borneo's Pygmy elephants and Proboscis monkeys in several places on this day.

Just upriver, we sailed into a side river - Managgul River - where the water was almost standing still. Here we saw a snake lying in a tree - different birds, Macaque and Proboscis monkeys. Later this evening we should have been out on another night cruise, which was unfortunately canceled due to bad weather.
