| So we arrived at the beach hotel "Beringgis Beach Ressort" 26km southwest of Kota Kinabalu city at Jalan Papar in Kinarut area. | ||

The beach hotel was nice, and lay just down to a
very wide sandy beach, where there was very shallow.
After some waiting in reception, we got
the keys to our room which was really nice with a nice big bathroom.
The garden area was fine with many
beautiful flowers and shrubs, and you could always spot at least a few
gardeners if you look around, which were started to maintain the lawn, trees and shrubs.
The hotel had a lovely swimming pool,
lying in the middle of the park-garden.
It was impossible to do without, since
the weather all day here was hot and humid ...!
The meals here we had in "Cabana restaurant & bar" which belonged to the hotel. It's was a nice place, and lay right down the beach. The staff here were very friendly and pleasant people, and the food here was also very good. (However, the prices were more expensive compared to the smaller eateries including Kuching!) The days when the weather was fine over the afternoon, we could see the most amazing sunset out over the water towards the west. We went for a daily walk in the surroundings with camera and butterfly net, and one day so we say a "Pitcher plant". This plant is a kind of creeper with jugs, containing a liquid that dissolves the insects that are attracted and fall in them. Every day we were greeted by some locals, who always were sitting outside on their porch. We also waved each day for some school children at the local school, at the end of the road opposite the hotel. Otherwise we spend our time here mostly relaxing, eating and bathing .... |
